Another Y-axis Drift
New MK3 (first printer), build date in December 2018. Seeing some fairly steep (approx. 55 degrees) Y-axis drift in my first 20 layers. Occurs on some prints, not all. This is new since firmware update to most recent from GitHub(?). Prior to the update, I was seeing stuttering on some prints, not all. Never any big shifts like in all of the support photos, so doesn't look like I'm skipping any teeth on the belt. After a new self test, belt values are at 280 each (up from about 275 prior to the new test). Yes, a bit tight, but still barely within the recommended 240 +/- 40. No obstructions, dirty spots, or anything. I do notice that the printer is considerably louder than expected, especially Y-axis. Stealth mode only makes it about 5-10% quieter. Biggest difference comes in reducing speed. Not a grinding noise though. I suspect noise comes from belt or bearings on the rods. No difference moving to a new table. Tying to make vibration absorbing feet for the thing, but of course, can't do that well with all this drifting, lol. I did make sure to position bearings as suggested in the online manual (didn't use the paper, defaulted to online).

Tried a few times to get the photos to upload. Figured maybe there was an approval rule so I'd come back and check. Trying again.

To attach an image, use "Add files" under the "Attachments" menu tab.

This site doesn't like native jpg files made by my Motorola Phone and I have to reduce the size, save them as PNG -- then save back to JPG before they upload.
The long method, stuff them into a .zip file, drag the zip from the desktop to the edit window. Zip is how you upload anything other than a jpg.
As for drift; one possible cause is the X or Y Axis gear is not properly attached.
Two set screws. The first one must be set on the motor shaft flat, tightened; then you set the second tight. Flat, then offset. Any other way will allow the screws to loosen over time.
