After Assembly: "Overextruding" and really distorted calibration print
Hello guys,
I have just assembbled my MK3S kit. The selftest was ok, but when calibrating the live-z, the printer printed really distorted lines. (see pictures).
When the hotend is hot, there is a bit of filament always flowing "dripping" out. I am using the included galaxy-silver filament. I have also selected the right profile (PLA).
I would be very thankful if You could helpp me out.-

The little drip that comes out is normal when hotend is heated, I usually just pull it off with plyers right when it does homing after heating. I agree, your live-z is still too high. Mines is around -1.23 but it is different for every machine.
When it is laying down the long lines, pick at it's trail with your finger until the filament doesn't come off the bed easily.
When it's doing the square, see if it forms small ridges when going back and forth. Too low (z too negative) and the hotend will drag some of the plastic back and forth forming those ridges. Back it off a touch and feel the square when it's done printing, should feel somewhat smooth.

Indeed, the z-axis calibration was way too low. The pitures were shot at -0.8, it's at -1.6, and its printing good.I think my PINDA Probe is a bit higher, thats why it took a while for it to get it to the right height. I thought that it wasn't the z-axis calibration, because of the very distorted lines. I suspected the mistake being much more severe.
I have now printed my first parts and they look amazing!
