Revo6 compatibility of any of the upgrade kits?

Hi, I have a fairly new MK3+ with a Revo6 hotend.

Will any of the available upgrade kits be compatible with the Revo6 hotend?

Thanks in advance

That hotend is compatible with the 3.5 upgrade kit.

Chuck you can not state that with any confidence.  The 3.5 kit has the new xBuddy board with new firmware.  Given the issues around firmware support for the Revo with the new thermal model on the Mk3 running 3.12 firmware then its an entirely unknown area.

Does the new firmware implement the new 'safer' thermal model, if it does then its unlikely they will have the data to have calibrated it for the Revo, so same issue as the Mk3 firmware in effect.

I would not make any assumptions at this point.

Sorry I'm not super versed in the firmware however doesn't the prusa mini also use the xbuddy board?

If so I thought I saw somewhere on a post someone did a revo upgrade in the mini which would lead me to belive that it should work.

Again if im wrong I'm sorry I may have over looked something.

No the mini uses the buddy board. , the xl uses the xlbuddy and the new mk4 uses the xbuddy.   While the hardware is all related the problem is that the firmware is all new. The CURRENT mini firmware doesn’t have any problem running a revo. Then again the old 3.11 mk3 firmware also didn’t have any problems running a revo either.
It’s the implementation  of the new thermal model that has caused issues with the mk3 firmware.

No one knows what the new firmware for the mk4 or the xl contains for certain at this point. Which is why little can be stated with certainty.

The current mini and mini + use the buddy controller board.

The new Xbuddy board has gained a number of additional connections.

I would not be surprised if in the future this board will be placed in all newly developed printers.

But that is a guess on my part.

That would be unfortunate, considering that is the whole reason Joseph said they were making the 3.5.  In the VLOG, he said that it would allow people to keep their mod hotends.

CW, sure hope your right, I have ordered a 3.5 upgrade for my mosquito hotend MK3S+! I see Prusa being overwhelmed with 3.5 orders and a bit of an information vacuum!

I confident enough that the Mosquito and Revo will work that I order 2 of them (upgrade kits).

I guess we will learn together as we have in the past! Just wanting to keep the reliability I have in my MK3’s.

Thanks to all for your helpful replies. I guess I have to be a little more patient before ordering

It is also unknown if you will be able to calibrate input shaper yourself. Probably "yes" but there is no official statement.

As of the latest firmware today, it's easy enough to mount a Revo nozzle and heater on a 3.9 or 4 heatbreak.
