Scratchy fill layers over bridges
Hi,
I have a print in which there's a small void. The slicer produces a gcode file that contains a bridge over the void and then the later layers are fill layers on top of the bridge. In practice, however, the first few fill layers end up being scratchy - a bit like pillowing.
For instance, here's the bridge layer being added:
Then when the fill layer gets added on top it looks like this:
As you can see, the filament doesn't lie flat. It sticks up so that when the next layer is printed, the nozzle scrapes against it.
Usually after a few layers are printed, it all smoothes out. But it takes 3-4 layers and each time, I can hear the nozzle scratching the filament.
It feels like something isn't calibrated or set up correctly. Any ideas? Everything else looks/prints fine.
