Shipping delays for 3.9 upgrade, can Prusa please address this?
I ordered my 3.9 upgrade back when it said shipping would happen in late August. Early September the estimate changed to 'the week of Sept. 11'. That week is now essentially over (depending on time zone) and I fully expect the estimate on the order page to say something like 'October' in just a few hours here. I understand the realities of manufacturing delays or discovered issues, but it would really help if Prusa would bother to say as much, instead of these silent delays with no end in sight.
Please, can we get some communication?

Yes, an honest and realistic indication of how things stand now in terms of shipping planning is something I would also very much like to see. Instead of always supplying just this date or estimation here and there, which is then moved again anyway without comment or further information...
As you wrote, I also know very well the real life of the manufacturing industry, delays can unfortunately always happen. But their information policy is just not good...

I'd like to hear as well. My MK3S has some maintenance issues I need to address (like noisy bearings) and I have put it off thinking a MK3.9 rebuild would happen soon.

Agreed. Especially since the last time they explained a reason for a delay was supposedly due to them discovering a design incompatibility with an older design that needed addressing. One would think that if that was the case, once they identified who had the older design, they could just ship the upgrade to those of us unaffected by the issue. But that questionnaire was sent out over a month ago now.
I would be happier with a "look, we're having a tough time solving some issues, and we're not sure when we'll get them fixed. We'll let you know when we start shipping." These perpetually updated shipping dates that end up quietly getting changed with no explanation are pretty much the worst option, since they're continually setting and missing expectations.
And again, it would be a WHOLE lot better if they had waited to charge my credit card until they actually shipped the product. We're nearing a 6 month loan that I've provided them.

I also am at the 6 month marker on my loan to them, but I am supposed to receive a MK3.9 kit for the price I paid in April for a MK3.5. I'll be OK with that, should it ever actually ship.

Prusa announced new MK4 firmware this week that also supports MK3.9. And they split the MK3.5 forum away from this MK3.9 forum. Progress. Even before the shipping announcement, I would love to see the printable parts list for the MK3.9. If it remains true that the 3.9 assembly retains the MK3's 8mm Z rods, and does not have the MK4's 10mm rods in the kit, per the MK3.9 sales page, then the printable parts cannot be the same as for MK4.

The printed parts page now says 'MK4/MK3.9 printable parts' and the MK3 to MK4 upgrade sales page says you keep the MK3 rods and bearings as well. I do not know if that is a recent change or not? I do not remember. But seems the 2 upgrade kits do now use the same set of printed parts.

Mine ordered on 4-4 is still in status 'New', but i think it's because i have the old silver power supply...

I just read the updates on the shipping information page. Provided the schedule can be kept to a certain extent, this time this definitely meets my expectation of being kept up to date with detailed information. Thumbs up Prusa team!
What will happen next?
- Customers who requested a 50% discount on a new black PSU will receive a follow-up email with a payment link to complete their order. We will automatically update their order with the required PSU. You can expect the email during the week beginning with 25th September.
- Customers with the silver PSU (produced until March 2019) will receive additional wiring with their orders. However, there might be a little delay in shipping since we are still waiting to finish some extra tests.
- Customers with the old 2+1 soldered heatbed (produced until April 2018) will receive the new one automatically.

Ordered my 3.9 upgrade kit on Apr 29, 2023. Still waiting on a shipping notice. I had the silver power supply, and soldered heat bed.

And it's arrived! A day earlier than DHL predicted. Random aside, I think I got about 6 emails and nearly that many text messages from DHL in the 3 days between shipping and arriving. They are nothing if not big on letting you know the current status.
Since I wanted to make sure the color matched, and I didn't have any PETG handy, I had to wait until it arrived to do the printing. So that'll take a couple days by itself to complete. I know pretty much the only things remaining were the frame, motors, and PSU, but it's still crazy to see all the new parts.

Are the new 10mm z-rods included ? I went ahead and ordered them and bearings anyways but wasn’t sure… maybe have to wait. it’s like the surprise ending to a book. everyone reads it, but no one says anything for six months…

I haven't received the upgrade. However, the MK3.9 instructions were posted on prusa3d.com recently, as was the MK3.9 printable parts list. Both show that the Z axis parts are the same as the MK4 and therefore we can expect the 10mm rods and bearings to be in the MK3.9 kit.

Given the detail in the MK3.9 instructions and printable parts list and that the upgrade matches the MK4 parts list, its fair to assume the MK3.9 sales page statement and retaining Z rods is the odd one out (i.e. inaccurate.)
