Y AXIS Stepper Motor jammed or seized
Hey all,
I have built my MK2S yesterday and it passed self test and calibrated perfectly. Before I made my first print of the Prusa tag on the supplied SD card I was concerned about the Y Axis and heat bed as when I manually move it back and forward it had stages of friction and smoothness from the front of the rails to the back. This only occurred while attached to the motor. The Printer as I said passed all the self test and calibrations so I decided to print the Prusa tag which printed fine. I then decided to print a larger tag that I had created myself (Approx 150mm x 60mm x 50mm). the printer was fine for about 4 hours and then the Y Axis jammed and the X axis kept in printing on a single line across the bed.
I am unable to move the heat bed back to the front of the rails as it is seized at the bed stop sensor. The motor has literally died.
Everything is set up perfectly and no other motor has friction in it.
Has anyone else experienced this??

I have solved this issue myself just now, the Pulley was too close to the Y axis motor. I undone the end sensor and removed the motor and the belt. I then undone the pulley and the motor was super easy to turn.
I reattached the pulley with about 3mm clearance from the motor and then put it all back together. I also made sure I realigned the motor so it was still in line with the belt and the front bearing.
Turned the printer on and it works like a dream now.
User error all the way. I looked back through the manual and it does say NOT to let the pulley touch the motor when you install it on the shaft.
All those steps and I only made one mistake...I'm happy 🙂

you could only learn by mistakes.... but you don't need to make them yourself 
so it's always helpful to see such postings here.
