X frame has an odd gap, is this ok?

I just started assembling my MK2 (non S) and I found that when I attach the X frame to the Y Gantry the two sides are vastly uneven.

I followed directions and mounted the Y gantry as far into the X frame cutout as possible and locked it in place. The gap on one side is 3 or 4mm and the other is 1.5mm or so. I have measured the distance from the table surface to the lower threaded rods and there is minimal variance along the way so I dont believe the rods are bent. Minimal as in .002" across the rod

Is this common to see or is there a problem with my frame?

Thanks in advance for any help.

yes, please attach some photos (-> attached as *.JPG files).... and use the same object descriptions as used inside the installation manual. actually i never came across such things like x frame or y gantry.
and take in account that for the majority of users english is not their native language (including the americans and australians here).

we are willing to help you solving the issues you may have... but not to solve any riddles about it.
