X-axis not working properly anymore/doesnt hit X endstop

Hi guys,

My prints had huge layer shifts (about 2mm). So i went on and check the belt and tightend it a little bit.
However, now the X-axis is not working properly at all, it stammers while trying to move the X-axis.
Also, when it does move, the printhead doesnt seem to reach the X-endstop.
It will go left, and it seems like it ' bumps' into something, but I cannot figure out where. If i push the print-head manually, it does reach the X-endstop.

Does someone know whats going on and how to fix it?
I made a small video to show whats happening:
Thanks!

Michiel

check the cables and the zip-ties at the rear of the extruder. in most cases "not triggering the x-endstop" is caused by something interfering there with the z-frame.
furthermore, about the stuttering of the x-axis: how did you tighten the x-axis belt ? i hope you didn't do this with the two screws at the x-idler end (they are only there to align the x-axis carriage length properly to the assembly of the z-spindles and z-rods).

did you check that the idler runs free inside the x-idler end part ?
maybe you've tightened the belt a little bit to much ?

dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...

Hey Jeff thanks for reply-ing!

I checked if there was anything blocking, but that didnt seem the case (just in case i rerouted the zipties and wires a bit).
I tightened the belt the way it is done in the manual of Prusa, which involves no screwing, just taking out the belt and place it back a bit tighter.

I just did it again, now a little bit looser, and it now seems to move somehow normal over the X-axis.
However, when I press selftest, it again ' rams' itself into the side and gives the error:

Please check:
Loose pulley
Motor

So i also tightened the pulley, but got the same error afterwards.

Thanks for thinking with me

Hi michiel.

Have you tried moving the x carriage to the right. And doing the same test but operating the end stop switch with your finger? The switch may be wired to the wrong connector. Or may be faulty...

If you havve access to the ptusa menu on the lcs dusplay. There is an endstop test option that lets you test the endstops by hand without the motors running

Zaxos can be tested with a metal objectt

hi Joan thanks for taking time.

I notice that if i try to push the print head to the right, it doesnt go that smoothly (yes ive disabled the steppers). It looks like the stepper motor is making a full 360 spin smoothly, and on the same point every time gives a lot of resistance, like its running in to something.

Can this be a faulty stepper motor maybe?

I had similar problems. You should check if the pulley is firmly attached to the motor. I checked mine and saw that it was slipping which explained the issue. It worked after I re tightened the pulley (make sure one of the screws is against a flat edge)
