Very strange Z calibration issue

I'm experiencing a really peculiar thing with the Z calibration., in that it seems to keep changing.

Firstly, I can have a perfect few prints and then I go to start another print and the nozzle will crash into the bed during the pre-print z calibration, it will just nudge the bed on points 1 and 2 and then crash on point 3 and fail - if i turn off the printer and turn it on again it will pass the z calibration fine and go on to do a perfect print.

The second thing is that I am regularly having to change the 'Live Z Adjust' by as much as .2mm, sometimes this is in between printing the same thing twice in a row.

Both of these seem really strange and have only just started happening in the last week or 2, is it possible that my PINDA probe is faulty?

Before anyone asks, the PINDA probe is definitely secure and not moving in-between prints, it just doesn't seem to like being turned on for prolonged periods of time.

Any advice would be appreciated.

regards,
