trying to replace my nozzle - wont come off

Hi Everyone,

New owner of an i3 here and I'm new to this. I have followed the instructions to upgrade my nozzle but can't seem to get it off. I have read to try to make sure the hotend doesnt move but it seems stuck. Anybody have any tips or suggestions? Thanks!

You have to do this while the hotted is HOT. Search for videos.

When hot, you need a spanner wrench to hold the body while you unscrew the nozzle. I use a socket to unscrew the nozzle. Be careful! Things are hot.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

check thomas sanladerers video (at about 5 min).
tools you need: 24mm wrench or adjustable wrench to hold the hotend block and a 7mm nut to unscrew the nozzle. you can even use a tool to remove glow plugs (from racecar or plane model making), they usually got the 7mm as well.

don't try to remove the nozzle with the pliers that came with the kit.... you'll probably do more damage with it than getting it loose, and you can't even reassemble the nozzle properly.

take in mind that disassembly and assembly need to be done when the parts are hot (about 300°C) !
for the assembly the use of copper paste is recommended. you can usually get this stuff at a diy store for car parts.

I did it 3 days ago. Tune the extruder to 295 degrees, and like jeffjordan said, use an adjustable wrench and a 7mm wrench.
