Size of set or grub screw on pulley

I accidentally lost my set or grub screw on the brass pulley (it is tiny) and I would like to buy a replacement.

Can anyone tell me what the size of the screw is?

Thanks!

Re: Size of set or grub screw on pulley

It's a 3.1mm long headless metric M3 Allen (hex) screw with 0.5 pitch. and a flat bottom. Mine had its head stripped, so the key could not properly grab the screw. I just bought a 3mm M3 screw (yup, it is 0.1mm shorter, but that does not matter) at my local hardware store.

Another problem is that Allen screws of that size are difficult to tighten because it is hard to find a screw+key that perfectly match. When you try tightening it, you will either strip the screw and/or the key. That's why I prefer torx (star) keys, but you can not find one that small with no head.

I have just ordered a 1/16" Allen Wrench (that's 1.59mm), to see if it fits better into my bolt.

When I get back home I'll see if I could fit an M3 screw with a head (hence, a bigger key).
