Selftest Endstop Z Error??
Hello,
I finally mounted and build my MK2 🙂 yippee.
Unfortunately, I get an error during the self-test:

Wiring Error Z
I have not installed an Z-endstop! What does this error mean?
Next thing is, I can only manually command to move the z-axis to go up, but not to go down... I checked the wires, should be ok with the Z-axis. What could be the error?

The P.I.N.D.A. probe is connected to the z-end stop connector on the RAMBo Mini on the MK2, so that is what the error is about. Check you've got it wired up right by comparing it against this picture from the Assembly Manual:

The probe is the Z endstop. You cannot manually move the extruder lower than the Zero position, which is the position it is at when the printer is turned on.
Sort out the probe wiring and run the self-test again.

Thank you for the reply. I checked my P.I.N.D.A. connection and removed and inserted it again. The error still happens.
What could it be?

There is also something strange. I can move my X and Y axis all from 0.0 to whatever and back. That is good and normal.
But I can only move my z-axis manually on the plus direction. I cannot go back to 0.0 or to any z-position below the movement. It just moves up. When I try to move the Z axis back, the movement shows on the display, but it actually does not move..

I tried now to issue G0 Z10 and G0 Z-10 command for moving the Z axis up and down. This works perfectly. Something is wrong here :(... Is the PINDA probe ok? Maybe it is damaged?

I ran a M119 command to get all endstop status (X,Y,Z):
SENDING:M119
Reporting endstop status
x_min: open
x_max: open
y_min: open
y_max: open
z_min: TRIGGERED
z_max: open
It seems P.I.N.D.A. is always triggered.
The second thing I tried was to deconnect PINDA from the board... it gaves the same result. z_min TRIGGERED..
Then I tried to move the y-end stop to the Z-endstop pins and leaving Y-end stop without any connection, just for testing what will happen. This is the result:
x_min: open
x_max: open
y_min: TRIGGERED
y_max: open
z_min: open
z_max: open
I think my PINDA wires or PINDA probe is damaged. What would you suggest? Trying to get back to Customer Service?

I contacted Customer Support today and they said, that they will replace my defective PINDA probe. I am very happy about the people from the customer support, they helped me alot.
@Kyle: contact customer support, if you provide pictures of your PINDA probe correctly mounted or a video with the PINDA not working, they will help you out.

I just wanted to post a status on the PINDA probe. Today, I received my new PINDA probe. Prusa Research sent out a package without my address, I had to contact UPS to confirm my address 😯 . As suggested, the PINDA probe was defective. My new one works just perfect 🙂
