Rambo board / stepper temps?
Hi.
How good are these things at handling heat? I've built an enclosure for the printer to help with ABS printing, but I was wondering if it could damage the board/drivers. Do they have some recommended max temp, or some safe-temp-safety-feature?
I'm planning on moving the PSU outside which shouldn't take much tinkering, but moving the rambo would require a lot more work.

I'm also planning an enclosure. My plans include adding an arduino to monitor the temperature and pull air out of the enclosure if it gets within a specified range of the maximum safe temperature of the electronics and steppers.
I've found references to 50C for NEMA 17 steppers. However this was for a random stepper. I've not been able to find anything on the steppers (or electronics) of the Mk2.
So, does anyone know what those temps (specifically, ambient temperature) might be?

Mines in an enclosure. No problems with prints now. Its perfect. I am not sure on what the temps are like in there but probably only around 30C.
I guess if there was a major problem there would be a "not suitable for an enclosure" somewhere but as these motors are good they should be fine. I am awaiting an update for the motors so I will let you know what the operating/max temp is. 😉

Steppers' data sheet says typical environmental conditions are the same as for common elecronic devices: ambient temperature -10..+40 °C
I think they can cope with temperatures up to 60°C without significant harm or wear.
General rule: if you can keep bare hand on the stepper or electronics, the temperature is OK. 😉

for the exact motors on the MK2
The ambient temperature is -24 degreeC to +60 degreeC

Prusa should be "stepping" up and commenting here though!
