Prusa Slic3r more warp
I recently updated to the new Prusa supplied slic3r and have been having problems with warp that I never had with the older slic3r. I am using the default profile .2 for pla. Could the different infill of more bottom layers be causing warping of parts to increase? Anyone else noticing the same thing?
Thanks,
Nathan
Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I do not have warping issues with the new slicer.

Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I have weird adhesion problem with one of my PLA filaments. I can only get it to stick if I use gluestick, but then it works perfectly.
Did you maybe also use a new type of filament at the same time you changed slicers?
Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I did not switch filaments, but my basement has gotten a lot colder with the cold weather. I think that might be causing the problem.
Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
Increase bed temp by 5 or 10 degrees. I always use 60 degrees and 65 for larger parts.

Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I will give that a try Peter, eventually i will get an enclosure built which should help during the winter nights.

If you print mainly with PLA, you should not need an enclosure (possibly better without). And the printer will help warm your room.

Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I will try increasing the bed temp and see if that is enough, I am mostly printing with pla and haven't had any problems with warp up until now.

With warping, do you mean prints lifting off the bed on some parts?
Or do you mean corners, or especially overhangs warping up?
Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
I mean lifting off the bed.

Yeah, then its probably the room is too cold. I am printing something right now, and have warping with PLA, and the room is very cold (12-15c).
I think I will need an enclosure for the cold months.
Re: Prusa Slic3r more warp
Did you have customised settings before and did you re-import them after wards?
I had done that, thinking that the upgrade would overwrite my old settings. I uninstalled Slicer, reinstalled so allowed the default settings to remain and my problem went away. I did have massive problems with adhesion after upgrading the version. I also cleaned the bed in Acetone the following weekend, which has massively helped adhesion for everything. Seems that IPA is great, but a weekly clean in Acetone also really rejuvenates the PEI for me. In fact so good is it now that my problems are in fact now getting the objects off my bed.
