Printing Problems

Hi there,

I was very pleased with the consistency and the quality of my Prusa i3 MK2 Kit.

Unfortunately this changed sometime ago and might be related to a full recalibration of the printer. Prints now look like on the photo which is attached to this post.

I redid the calibration and checked the printer but cannot find anything.

Any hints from where the problems might come?

Re: Printing Problems

If on the photo are vertical layers, it seems more likely the extrusion of filament is not correct. It could be many reasons, but try first the most simple. Check if the filament on the coil is not crossed or with knots. If not, check the puley on the extruder motor, if it is on right place and fasten.

Hi Milos,

Yes, it is vertical layers. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look into it.

Also try cleaning the nozzle. Might be a partial blockage causing under extrusions. My preferred method is "cold pulls" (also known as "atomic pulls, "the atomic method")

Thanks for the suggestions! Everything's good again 🙂 The extruder's springs didn't have enough tension - a few turns of the screws and the prints are perfect again.
