Printer stopping halfway through

So I tried printing out http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1773111 over last night and I woke up to the printer stopped about 43% of the way through (number calculated by the preview in slic3r). Here is an album of how it was when I woke up http://imgur.com/a/yT2eu . There are a few curious things to me:

The fans were still running and the temperatures were still hot and not cooling down.
The printer head had moved up and to the right like it was done?
The screen says 8:10 minutes at the bottom but the run time is 9:35?

I'm not sure if the printer thought it was done. If it did then why are the temperatures still hot?
It's also possible that it overheated or something but then why did it move up and not just stop in place?
It's also possible that my gcode was broken? No idea how it would respond to that or how I can check it.

My printer was newly assembled/calibrated this previous weekend and has firmware version 3.0.8. I used slic3r from the driver's package on the PLA Normal setting with the only settings change being a 6mm brim.

Any thoughts?

You need to wait until the gcode file is completely saved, which can take quite a while using slic3r. Check for the status of the export in the status bar at the bottom of slic3r.

Thanks,

I thought it was done when I had exported, maybe it wasn't. I'll do another export and compare the gcode before I try printing again.

If you copied the GCode file to an SD card on a WIndows PC, you also need to "safely remove" the SD card.

Re: Printer stopping halfway through

Ok so I believe I had two issues. First issue was that the tension on the extruder for the filament was not tight enough. When I tried to print this last night it wasn't extruding so I had to fix the tension and it started working again. I also noticed that during the part where the print had stopped the hotend moved pretty rapidly, I'm guessing that the move caused the filament to pop out. The second issue is that my gcode was 1mb smaller than a newly generated one, so it was missing a bit.

That being said now I have a thermal runaway problem. http://imgur.com/a/ajUuS . I read the other thread on this issue and I think I know a few issues to try. It's very possible that the temp in that run got under 20C overnight, I will also try turning down the cooling fan to 60%. The connector for the thermistor seems fine to me. For now I'm going to try printing out some other objects and retry this model later.
