Printer shut down, won't boot up now
My printer just suddenly shut down mid-print and won't boot up again. Checked all the obvious, power at the wall etc...
So, bad power supply or did the board fail? Any ideas?
I'll investigate with the voltmeter tomorrow and try to narrow it down...
Re: Printer shut down, won't boot up now
Fuses would be the first place to look. And don't forget there is a fuse in the power inlet socket on the PSU.

Re: Printer shut down, won't boot up now
I checked the power supply with the voltmeter, getting 12v DC so that wasn't it.
Next I opened the case to the controller board and checked the fuses, sure enough one of the fuses had blown. Glad that's all it was but now I'm curious as to why, and how many times will this happen again in the middle of a 4hr print??
Re: Printer shut down, won't boot up now
Which of the 3 fuses had blown? I would guess that it was one of the 5Amp fuses (F3) - the one for the electronics, fans and extruder heater:
You may have the extruder heater cables too close together such that a short occurred.
Fuses blowing doesn't happen very often. I have 2 printers and never had one blow.

Thanks Peter, I will check into that. I may have done something to cause the wires to short when changing the nozzle recently.
