Printer freezing/hanging

So first off I love this printer!! It's awesome. I am glad I choose this over all the other kits I looked at. The quality of the parts and the ease that I was up and running are well worth the added cost. I allready want to build a second printer maybe a p3steel/mk2 hybrid.

I had a few problems on my first prints. My very first print the fan was hooked up wrong so without a fan it was a mess. Fixed that. The next problem I had was a few models were lifting on the edges, one got knocked off and totally messed up that print. I fixed that with increasing the bed temp to 60 and adding a small brim in sli3r.

My new problem has me a bit perplexed. I have had 2 prints simply freeze in the middle of the print. The display has the time shown as if it's finished but the item isn't done. The nozzle is over the part, not off to the side like when a part is done.

At first I thought it was a corrupted gcode. I had transferred the first file from Google drive to the SD card through my cell phone. This last time I used a new 16g SD card that was freshly formated and transfered directly on my laptop.

Any ideas would be appreciated!! Thanks

Ryan

Re: Printer freezing/hanging

You have to wait until Slic3r finishes export of generated gcode file. There is no expressive feedback of the process, only diminutive info in status bar. It is very easy to miss that information and use only partially generated gcode file for printing. Believe me, you're not the only person with this problem. 😉

So am I hitting export before slic3r has finished making the code, Or am I closing slic3r before it has finished exporting it. A notice or something more than that small status bar would be ideal.

Thanks for the help!
