Print quality unchanged below 100 microns?

Hello!

While my experience with the i3mk2 has been great so far (first printing experience) there's something that eludes me...
I know it is capable of 50 microns, but there is seemingly no change (besides a vastly longer printing time) between that and 100 microns?
Shouldn't it be...you know, a lot more detailed or something? A much higher fidelity? After all, the layer height is halfed.
What could be the cause of this?
Is it perhaps the extrusion amount? I've set it to 0.98 (using Simplify3d)...
Maybe my Z isn't calibrated correctly? (I think it's around -480...)Could it be a general calibration issue?
Or something else altogether..?

Thanks for your time!

The resolution will only increases mainly on the z-axis, just a little on the x and y where the object has slopes.

This can be a big deal, like on the marvin or ship benchy. Print something with many slopes and I think you will be able to notice a difference, like the tree frog on the SD card.

If you want more detail on the x and y axis you can put in a smaller nozzle.

But the Treefrog is one of those examples.
And I did print something with slopes.
And like I said, it's seemingly unchanged, whether it's 100 or 50 microns.

The tree frog is very noticeably higher quality than the other prints for me. So maybe you have something wrong? Can you post pictures?
