Print layer jumping along x-axis

I'm getting a lot of failed prints due to the extruder jumping anything up to 15mm along the x-axis. I originally thought this might be due to a manifold issue but the gcode looks fine and the failures are at different heights on different print runs.

Looking closer at the belt as a print was running I could see some distortion then looking at the motor pulley the belt was riding up the side flange which has, I guess, caused the belt distortion. I have repositioned the pulley to centralize the belt, however the jumping is continuing. Obviously I have never seen the jump happen so I can't tell for sure that the distorted belt is the cause.

I'm going to have to source a new x-axis belt anyway - I can't see one on the Prusa web site so where's the best place to get one from? Also, is there another potential cause for the jumping that I might have to take into account?

Regards,

Trevor

Thanks for rhe pointer to the FAQ, aaron, a very handy post.

New X-axis belt arrived half an hour ago, I'll fit it and do a complete set of calibrations.

Regards,

Trevor
