Please fix the MK2 firmware serial comm issue ASAP - Octopi

The issue with Octopi not working with MK2(s) any more because of the LIN ADV disturbs the serial communication is getting old. It was fixed in the MK3 firmware quickly but what about all the MK2 customers that get stalled prints - because of this bug? There must be hundreds and hundreds of users having this issue.

Please - I know it is important to work on the MK3 firmware but your installed base of MK2 also deserve support.

I want my great printer back! 🙂

Thanks

Im running Octoprint on a MK2S with no issues. Using 3.1.0 version.

I'm not the OP but I have issues with this as well. I can have 2 or 3 prints in a row work just fine and then the next will just stop during the print with all heaters remaining on. I can reflash with 3.0.9 and all is well. There is definitely something wrong and was acknowledged by Prusa but they have put all efforts into the MK3 and left this hanging.

I had below issue:
https://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/software-f13/checksum-mismatch-t6214.html#p43543

This made my printer just stop moving.
I did below and now it works fine again.

One other thought (this was a firmware fault I reported over 6 months ago...) OctoPi settings/Serial Connection/Advanced Options/Simulate an additional OK for resend requests - make sure you have ticked the box.

Be careful with this fix, because sometimes it can cause problems that can affect print quality since the additional OK is generated even when it is not needed.

There are 2 good workarounds I am aware of:

1. Update your firmware to the latest Release Candidate (RC5 as of now, I believe). Several users have reported the problem solved.
2. As another user suggested, disable linear advance by not using the linear advance profiles or via custom gcode (check a few comments above for the appropriate code, can be added to your custom filament start gcode)

Lastly, if you have a stalled print, go to the Octoprint terminal tab, click advanced and then click the giant button labled: Fake Acknowledgement. This may or may not work, but it's worth a try if you have a stalled printer melting your nearly finished model.

I too would like to see this fixed in a release firmware build (not a candidate) soon, especially because it can really mess up my Timelapse plugin.
