pinda probe on MK2 and recommended upgrades?

hi, i had the printer running overnight to print something...this morning when i tried to print again, it gave this error : "bed leveling failed. sensor disconnected or cable broken"...

i did a self test to make sure everything is running properly...did self test and another error popped up "please check endstop wiring error z"....checked the connection on the board and everything is ok....the pinda probe is emitting red light but very dim and not the normal brightness...

i went to calibration, show end stops, X and Y had 0 next to them and Z had 1 next to it....so i placed something metallic under the pinda probe the Z value didn't change from 1 to 0 or vice versa but i could see the pinda probe led switching off when a metallic object was underneath the pinda probe...

I am assuming the pinda probe needs to be replaced? my other concern is that in my country prusa doesn't have a reseller or distributor so I will need to order all the spares from elsewhere which will take up time and money... so what upgrades/spares do you suggest i get now so i can keep the printer up and running for a long time rather than keep on waiting for spares to arrive...

I assume after fixing the damaged cable of your probe, most likely somewhere near the place it is mostly bent back and forth, you will be fine to print again. That probe by the way costs Just some 12-15 bucks and I always have those essentials on stock. Provided you are willing to pay the transport cost I am sure you could geht hold of spares directly from Prusa-Shop in just a few days.

Hu ahtiram

Your pinda cable has probably failed at the back of the x carriage. Where the wires flex with every sweep of the x carriage assembly

Open the cable bundle
And strip back the outer insulation then you will almost certaiinly find one of the wires are broken

Either strip the ends. And solderback together. Or replace all wires from a point closer to the pibda probe. To a point inside the Rambo case. And tyou will be back in service

I try to make safe suggestions,You should understand the context and ensure you are happy that they are safe before attempting to apply my suggestions, what you do, is YOUR responsibility. Location Halifax UK
