Pinda Probe Nut

I just upgraded my MKS2 with a Titan Extruder. I am using this mount which uses the MK2 pinda probe mount vs. the newer mks2 version https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2065461 .

My MKS2 kit did not come with the proper nuts to lock the pinda in place. I went to the hardware store to get 5/16 nuts which do not fit. I asked support and the only info i got was 12mm face to face and 6mm diameter. This doesn't help me since we use different sizes in US.

Anyone know what type of nut I need and/or, have a print file to make a replica?

Cory,

Take your Pinda probe with you to your local Ace Hardware store. They have many sizes of metric screw/nuts/bolts in drawers in the back of my local store. Look for Jam Nuts.

You can use my pinda protector which use the proper thread. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1617374
Seeing your extruder design, you might have to edit it to reduce the external size, but you'll have something printable as a workaround. I can provide a step file if you prefer.

Anyway having a real nut would be a better solution.

I suspect the thread will be M8x1 rather than M8x1.25. Barrel sensors like the PINDA probe usually have a fine pitch thread.

You may well be correct, but my calipers say 1.25mm pitch, but I was measuring in situ and could be very wrong.

Same issue with mine, can't get in to measure it. Just going from personal experience a standard metric coarse thread almost never fits a sensor.

Re: Pinda Probe Nut

As far as I tested, the closer thread size is ISO M8.1

Re: Pinda Probe Nut

Anyone ever find the nut size? Mine disappeared the last time I took my printer apart.
THANKS!
