Perfecting the 1st layer mk2 bed

Hi all

Recently received my kit and built all ok with little issues. The only problem I had was one screw just not going into the bed, taking the bed out and screwing in and it would hold fine.

Screwing while attached to the carriage and it just would not take hold. After many tries I got it to grip but couldn't tighten it too much before it would go loose.

So although it's attached, I'm not 100% it won't dislodge in the future. Possible this nut on the bed not quite straight.

Should I be concerned?

Prints are great, but the 1st layer could be better. Any ideas on how I can improve ?

The photos below) are the best I've got. The nozzle height is set to -0.670 and also had to reduce the flow to 92% for PLA to prevent wavy lines and over extrusion.

This has resulted in smoother 1st layers but not as squished and uniform as I like it. On one part of the photos (middle of the bed) the nozzle is too high. If I increase flow or lower bed then I get the wavy lines again so not an option to fix this area of the print.
