NOZZLE FAN IS MISBEHAVING/ TEMP GOING MAD
PROBLEM 1
When I start printing all is well and the nozzle fan is set to zero. After a short while suddenly the Nozzle fan switches on and runs at 250 revs. I use the LED control to move it back to zero and I notice that the nozzle temp has dropped considerably. Carry on for a while and then the same thing happens over and over.
Check the slicer and ensure that : Auto Cooling is on; Fan Speed 30: % Max is 90%; Disable fan for first 3 layers.
Doesn't help fan still comes on intermittently at full speed. Cant print like this
PROBLEM 2
Click on preheat and set it to PLA - 215/55
Go into Repetier and connect computer to printer. Temp immediately changes to 165 deg. Set it back to 215
Click on Print and Bed temp readout goes to 60deg.
Go to Tune and bring it down to 55 deg. Nozzle r]temp also now on 210 deg. Use Tune to bring it up to 215
Model is now printing and I have disconnected the extruder fan on the PC Board
This thing is driving me crazy. please help!!

Re: NOZZLE FAN IS MISBEHAVING/ TEMP GOING MAD
We need much more information. What slicer? What settings? What material? I presume you are taking about the front fan, not the side fan.
FIrst. Does the printer print pre-sliced things okay? Does it pass the self test?

Re: NOZZLE FAN IS MISBEHAVING/ TEMP GOING MAD
Thanks for coming back. To answer your questions:
I am using Slic3 Prusa Edition
Settings:
Enable Auto Cooling
Fan Speed min 35% Max 96 %
Bridge Fan Speed 90%
Disable for first 3 layers
Material Prusa supplied silver 1.75 filament
Fan in question is the Front fan blowing onto the Nozzle and extruded filament
PROBLEM 1 Once I have reset the temperatures using the LED panel the model will print perfectly with temp staying constant
PROBLEM 2 No matter how many times I reset the speed of the fan, again using the LED panel, this fan will keep speeding up to max 255 revs over and over again. This cools the nozzle down rapidly and results in feed of filament being stopped
I have downloaded and installed latest Firmware.
Hope you can help Aaron

Re: NOZZLE FAN IS MISBEHAVING/ TEMP GOING MAD
Does this happen on pre-sliced G-code? Try printing the Prusa Logo.
If it doesn't happen with pre-sliced code, you have changed a slicer setting or are using a wrong profile. In which case, you can zip up a G-code file where this occurs and attach it to a post.
