need help printing

Hi, received my prusa I3 mk2 kit last week. I manage to assemble it without any problem. I had some issues calibrating but end the end the display showed X/Y axes are perpendicular. Congratulations!
Now I managed to print some small things like marvin, but when I print something large I get this result!

the first 1cm it's fine, then I go to sleep I find this mess in the morning.
What can causes this problem?

Can't tell for sure but i think it looks like the print shifted, is that the case?

- check if the motor pulleys are tight and fastened to the flat side of the motor shaft
- check if your belts are tight
- power off the machine and check if x & y axes move smoothly without binding

maybe post a how the object should have looked?

Re: need help printing

thanks for the tip, I removed most of the filament and I found out that the problem is a "layer shifting" issue
so after 1,5cm the layer shifted 1,5cm and after 1mm it shifted again 0,5mm

how can I prevent this layer shifting?

Were you using high power mode? Low power is more susceptible to layer shift.

LCD accessible option...

was there any warping in the bottom of the model? if the model warps, it can collide with the print head and cause lost steps, which lead to layer shift

were you using a Z'Lift profile on the slicer?

Z lift, lifts the extruder when required to move from one part of the model to another part... which should minimise the chances of this problem.

Re: need help printing

I contacted S3D support because I use there software to print from the Prusa I3 mk2.
They sent me this information regarding my problem "This looks like a layer shifting problem. Please read through this section on the PQT guide -> https://www.simplify3d.com/support/print-quality-troubleshooting/#layer-shifting-or-misalignment "
So I loser the X drive belt with a successful result.

but still I have a small issue, see image
there are little differences in the print.
Can it be that I have now an issue with the other Y belt? (image is the front side of the print)
What do you think?
