Mk2S Power Cable Extension

Does anyone know what cable and blocks I could use to extend the power cable for the MK2S? I've built the Prusa enclosure but to mount the power supply outside the cables are very short. Because of my setup I'm unable to mount the power supply below and on the left so that leave me with an issue of how to keep the power supply outside. So basically I need to extend the power cables. Now I'd rather not splice the cables, so I'm wondering if anyone can point me at an extension cable that would work with the blocks on the Prusa stock power cables. Thoughts?

Re: Mk2S Power Cable Extension

is the wire size written on the wires?

e.g. 16AWG ?

if so, get some lengths of the same gauge wire and suitable crimps, and make longer cables.

I like to use silicone insulated flexible wires because they are heat resistant... the flexibility is not essential with these wires, but it does no harm,

according to this table 16AWG wire can handle over 300 watts, there are two power feeds on the mk3, sharing the load and the power supply is only 240watts.
the heatbed cable is 16awg... I would go with this size of wire... you could consider 14AWG, to reduce voltage loss... connectors may be more difficult to find for this wire size.

Re: Mk2S Power Cable Extension

Ok folks,
I made a bit of a booboo...
16 gauge cable is rated at 13 - 15 amps... (depending upon which tables you look at!) which would be ok on a Mk3 prusa with 24 volt powersupply...

the Mk2s, which this thread relates to, has a 12 volt PSU, so you should look at using thicker wire...

I hope this has not caused anybody any issues.
