MK2S Help
Hello to all,
I successfully mount the mk2s.
My first print was the vase. About 7 hours and the result was excellent.
Now I'm trying to print a box but the result is not good.
I attach some photos to show you.
The first layer has lines ... why? You can suggest a solution. IMG_1111.jpg
Another thing I did not expect and that the angles lift up a bit. What am I wrong? IMG_1110.jpg
I'm using Slic3r PR
Thanks for the support
Re: MK2S Help
Hi Francesco,
It looks to me as if you have too large a negative z value.
what is happening is that you are squeezing too much plastic through too small a gap between the extruder nozzle and the heated bed.
and the plastic is causing ridges because there is not enough space for it to lay flat.

Re: MK2S Help
Ciao Joan,
My z compensation is -0.370
I saw the Josef video that is around -0.500.
There is a fixed value?
Thanks for replay

Re: MK2S Help
Hi Francesco, the LiveZ value is different for every printer.
try reducing yours a little and see if it helps

Re: MK2S Help
...There is a fixed value?...
yes, joan is absolutely right. 😀
➡ it is simply a value which is a property of your assembly. and i always recommend to find the correct value for your printer first, before complaining about warping, bad first layers, the quality of the pei-sheet and/or parts popping off from the heatbed while printing.
even prusa does this with leading you to adjust it with the v2_calibration.gcode right after the x/y/z - calibration procedure.
but it's very tricky to get it right with only the v2_calibration file. so have a look at this thread.
💡 so find your correct value and consider that it's neither a good or bad value (it's just a number), when comparing it to other live-z adjustment values of other assemblies.
dem inscheniör is' nix zu schwör...
