MK2 P.I.N.D.A. protector woes

Hi ,

Has anyone tried to print the protector available on the "Printable Parts" page ?

I did , came out nice, but it doesn't seem to fit 🙁 The centr hole ist to wide , so instead of screwing onto the probe , it just fall off ...
I noticed it is labelled as "small" in the download archive , and looks different then the one in the assembly instructions aswell 🙂

I haven't had problems with detaching parts that could damaged the PINDA yet , but i'd prefer to be safe and have the protector on ....

Cheers ,
Claude

Check this thread, lots of info and suggestions about the probe protector.

I printed at 96% scale to get it to catch the threads on the PINDA. The fit is tight enough to never come loose. A few more people have printed it at 96% with successful results in the i3 kit forum. Neither the g-code or the original STL would fit. They were both too big.

Don't use the STL file use the Gcode file it works and looks a lot better.

Gcode here. Too big. Just about to reslice and try again at 96% size as recommended.

I added a bit of tissue paper with a hole in the middle. Slide it on the PINDA probe, then screw the protector on and it fits well.
