MK2 Nozzle pushes into heat bed during calibration

Hi,

After initially setting up my printer and running the calibration, I found that the nozzle would push into the print bed during calibration. I have been using Firmware 3.0.3

I ran both the Settings -> Calibrate Z and the V2Calibration.gcode and saw the same issue in both. The first 3 points of calibration looked fine and seemed to be correct, then it moved onto the middle 3 points of calibration and for each it pushes down into the print bed and seemingly the pinda probe wasn't picking up the print bed.

I'm not sure what caused this problem but after speaking to support, as a last resort I tried re-flashing the firmware which has fixed the issue.

I now have some dents on my print bed, is it possible to smooth these out?

Nick

Hi Nick

I think quite a few of us have those little holes.

I have used a wood chisel to ensure there are no high points, but other than that there is very little you can do about them. Replacing the PEI sheet appears to be the only option.

I have notice that the more I print the marks seem to be less noticeable. Not sure if my bed was just pushed down into the adhesive and is getting pulled back with every print, or what is happening. Maybe, I am just getting used to it.

I have several of those marks and a gouge right in the center. I was worried about it at first, but I can actually print right on top of it and it doesn't seem to cause any issues. So I wouldn't worry about it unless you see it start to cause any issues.
