Mk2 -> mk2s upgrade - sporadic self test failures

I recently upgraded from mk2 to mk2s and the self test initially passed. Then I did xyz calibration which moved the paper so I adjusted the pinda probe slightly. Then the xyz calibration worked strangely. I then did a self test which failed with:
Please check:
Motor x
Endstop z

I also saw that pinda light wasn't displaying. When I wiggle it displays correctly but self test still fails sporadically. Since self test does sometimes work I believe the connections to the Rambo board are correct. They are seated solidly. So is the problem on the other end near the extruder? Would using heat shrink help isolate the wires where it bends at the extruder ends? Do I need to buy a new pinda probe? What else can I do? The Y axis seems to be fine.

I checked with support who confirmed pinda probe is broken so a new one will be sent. I hope that resolves these issues.
