MK2 Calibration fails after 3 months

Having a strange issue, my MK2 has been running perfect for about 3 months (18 print days on the stats) All of a sudden the it won't calibrate. The 2nd end point can't be found. I haven't moved or knocked the printer and the probe lines up perfectly with both end point 1 and 4. I've double checked the alignments made sure nothing came lose, done a factory reset, all components are working - completely out of ideas.

One thing I did notice is, during the xyz calibration it finds the forward middle end point fine. Then it lifts the Z arm about 5mm and continues to the 2nd endpoint. When it reaches the second calibration point it doesn't lower the Z back down. I don't know if this is by design or a software bug - I don't remember from my first set up.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you!
Simon

Solved! There seems to be a short in the P.I.N.D.A probe. When the arm moved all the way to the right (facing the printer) the prob seems to short. Literally jiggling the cable got it working again. A temp fix but at least we know what it is. - On to ordering a new probe.

To trouble shoot run the XYZ configuration. When it gets to the point where it fails, jiggle the cable around and see it the red diode light flickers on and off. It should be a solid red, if it flickers there is a short in the line somewhere.

Hope this helps
