Left fan cuts out

This past Thursday I had a jammed nozzle on my Mk2. I've finally cleared it, but I think the reason it jammed is because the cooling fan on the left side cuts out at various times as the cable assembly moves. I can make it cycle on and off by moving the cable assembly near where it enters the computer box on the left. I thought I had identified the problem and cut out a section of the fan wires where they appeared to have been pinched where they enter the box:

But after splicing them back together and stuffing the cable assembly back into the box, it still is intermittent. I suppose it's possible that the break is in another place in the fan wires, but my feeling is that it's some other wire causing the problem. My thinking is maybe it's the nozzle thermistor wires. If the thermistor appears to be open it thinks the hot end is not hot and shuts off the fan?

Thoughts?

Thanks!

SOLVED. It turned out that the problem was indeed farther up the wires for the fan, so I cut it a few inches from the fan and spliced in a new wire. Working perfectly now.
