LED Light on heatbed

Is the LED light on the heat bed cable supposed to light up to indicate the heat bed is heating/working? Mine has not worked for a long time now but the heat bed still works, so is this something I should be concerned about at all?

Not sure if this has anything to do with it, but often times when I try to print something from the SD card, the temperature on the LCD messes up and says 25/0 or whatever number out of 0, for both the extruder and heat bed. It happens randomly, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't and I have to try a couple of times or restart the printer for it to work. Was this a firmware issue?

Re: LED Light on heatbed

Looks like you have two problems not related.
1. The LED is wired across the incoming leads to show when voltage is present. Best guess is that one of LED leads has a cold solder joint or has come unsoldered.
2. Would appear to be some type of computer glitch, Try the all famous reset. If that does not work the guys at the factory have been great helping me and others. I am sure they can help.

Yes

I don't think you need to be concerned. If unsure, you may remove the plastic cover and check the soldering joints. If the soldering joints of the power cable are all right and there is no free solder ball or anything that could potentially shorten the power cable or its soldering joints, then the bed should be working.

The first number is the actual measured temperature, the other number is the target temperature. 25/0 means the bed is heated to a room temperature and the printer is not heating the bed, because the target temp is zero. That is all right.

Would you please be more specific as when it happens?

Thanks,

Ok I'll have a look at the soldering when I get home from work on the LED.

The temperature readings on the LCD screen happen randomly. Sometimes after I insert the SD card and try to "print from SD" card, other times after a print is finished when the bed and extruder are still heated, I'll start another print from SD card as the heat bed and extruder are cooling down, and it'll show what the current temperature is of the heat bed and extruder but the "out of" part will be 0, so the temperature starts dropping instead of climbing to prepare for another print. eg. 140/0 for the extruder and 90/0 for the heated bed.

It's hard to give more information because it's random. The last 3 prints I started everything heated properly, but the few before that gave me the issue above so I had to stop the print and select print from SD card a couple of times until the temperature reading changed from /0 to /my set temperature. It can even happen on the same file so it's not some temperature setting I messed up in the slicer.

Re: LED Light on heatbed

Does it happen regularly with some particular G-code? Could you post the G-code, please?

Thanks, Vojtech

I've had the same problem when printing an ABS project yesterday. As did another gent: https://www.facebook.com/groups/Prusai3users/permalink/602173343300484/

It happened with the ORBZ print in the first couple of layers, if I recall correctly. I'm pretty sure it happened in the reprint of the fan nozzle as well. Both attached.

does it mean it is not reproducible? Or does it happen to you with this code all the time?

Thanks, Vojtech

Re: LED Light on heatbed

It is not deterministic. I cannot reproduce on command.
