Jumping Stepper Motors

Hi,

I've recently purchased an MK2 and have successfully printed a couple of the preinstalled files. Unfortunately though, now the stepper motors are jumping - this is every motor. Both the x and y axis motors stop functioning at a specific point along the rails, and when I try to insert filament, the extruder makes a clicking sound and it doesn't move.

The belts are tight, and when it's turned off the movement along the rails is okay.

Have the motors burned out, or do you think it could be a software issue?

Many thanks for your time,

Matthew

Worth just checking the wiring. If it is messy in the box it is also worth tidying it up. I had read on here somewhere that interference could be causing problems.

If already tidy double check everything is pushed in correctly. You will struggle to burn out all 5 motors at the same time.

Also, make sure the small grub screws in the pulleys are tight. I really don't think it is an electronic issue, but then again, I have been proven wrong on many occasion.

Have you tried again with the pre-sliced files and do they now not print correctly?

Thank you for your replies.

I've checked the pulleys, which are tight, and the wiring seems okay. Do you have any more suggestions as to what may be wrong?

Thanks

Is there any chance you could get a video of whats happening? It will help us identify any problems. A picture of the printer may also help if we can spot anything.

Did you try to print one of the pre-sliced files again?
