Intermittent print quality/thickness

Please see attached pics.

I am having a problem with my printer. The issue exist in both PLA and ABS.
The issue is when i am print object usually medium to larger size objects with long print time, the print start out fine with good quality. After a while of being printed the print quality changes you can see a different in texture for PLA. usually when its printing perfectly it looks a bit shinny but and the when the problem start, does layers start looking dull and a bit rough. Also the prints look and feel a bit wider (increased diameter like an indentation).

I dont believe this is a layer shift because when printing round object, this indentation goes all the way around. This goes on for a bit and then returns to to normal quality (size and look). if i however print a small cylinder the print comes out fine. For big cylinders we get the smooth -> rough -> smooth -> rough -> smooth transition.

This is the same for abs only different is it more rougher and more susceptible to cracking.

You can see an example in the picture i attached. not very good because of color of filament and size of object, i will try to get a pic of a better example.\

Thanks!
