Hi guys,
➡ I just ordered the kit with the pinda2 a 12V MK52 heatbed and the new powder coated spring steel print sheet.

💡 now that the pinda 2 is fitted with a thermistor, I'm just wondering to which port of the miniRamBo 1.3a the thermistor should be interfaced. ?
obviously there is only one thermistor port left.... but that's a different I/O port as used by the EINSY Rambo for the z-probe (atmega2560's arduino pin #A1 instead of A3).

furthermore I'm asking myself: which firmware to run at the miniRambo for the i3 MK2.5 ?
especially when the mmu kit is fitted 🙄

and, last but not least: the EINSY uses pullups and a small protection circuit to interface the pinda2 thermistor to the i/o port (2 schottky diodes, two 2.37k€ resistors and a 4.7k pullup).

I'm pretty curious about what will be inside the package... and especially: which assembly instructions :mrgreen: .

I'm afraid that many of the new features will probably not work. I'm thinking of the speed-controlled fans too 🙁

It would be nice if PRUSA says something about this.

My opinion : Only the new MK52 heatbed is the goal.

Upgrade kit contains:

1. Magnetic MK52 Heatbed with powder coated PEI spring steel print sheet 12v - Yes, sure
2. Bondtech extruder gears - OK, nice
3. Filament Sensor - how did it work, which ports ?
4. P.I.N.D.A 2 with thermistor - same as Filament Sensor, ports for thermistor ?
5. Noctua fan 5v - 5V, not 12V ??? How abaout speed-control ?
6. 200g EasyABS filament - OK 🙄

The PINDAv2 could be connected via a y-cable to z endstop and T1 (Thermistor) and the 12V Noctua fan also with a y-cable to fan and an unsed endstop (rpm sens).
Filament sensor on P3 same as on the EINSY as it is a I2C device.
But we will see how they solve it.

So far, they do not have the term for firmware on mk2.5. Github is just a firmware for mk3.

Happy New Year, on the github you see 6 branches most resent are MK3 and MK2. I expect these will be merged to one as soon the MK3 firmware isn't Beta or RC. Having a stable MK3 and stable MK2 the MK2.5 variant is quite easy to implement. The latest MK3 firmware looks already good, just need the extra flash implemented and some bugs fixed.

Hi guys, I ordered the i3 mk2.5 update.
Since I have not yet printed with ABS, I thought, I'll try this with the parts I need for the upgrade.
Unfortunately, I can nowhere find an indication of what parts I need to print.
Can you give me a hint where to find the STL's and what to print?

Not for me, the goal is the PindaV2 probe. I am getting up to 0.5mm z height difference when going from print to print and ABS to PLA to PETG. It drives me round the twist having to constantly change first layer z height. All because the Pinda probe z height changes with temperature.

There is no reason to have items in the kit if they are not going to be able to be used.

Correct !

Workaround : Do your bed-leveling with constant bed-temperature, for example 50°C and after leveling, heat up.

The heatbed is the main thing.
Ill wait getting the Bondtech gears on to see what the MK3 people thinks first.

MK2S Pinda works fine for me, always heat up withe extruder 100mm from the bed.
My MK2S works really good, almost scared changing something 🙂

Workaround : Do your bed-leveling with constant bed-temperature, for example 50°C and after leveling, heat up.

The problem is not the bed temperature, but the probe temperature. The probe gets blasted with hot air from the hot end fan. After all why bother putting a thermistor in the probe itself if the issue is different bed temperatures.
