How to set P.I.N.D.A Probe Height?

Hello,
I just replaced the Thermistor for the extruder head. I ran the calibration and when I run the V2 calibration the print does not stick to the bed, even after adjusting the Live Z. What should I set the PINDA probe at? Is there a video showing how to adjust the PINDA? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

Check the kit assembly instructions.

Re: How to set P.I.N.D.A Probe Height?

Hi,

On my Mk2S I’ve found the following works for the grey PLA which comes with the kit,

The gap between the paper on the bed and the lower point of the sensor is 1.28 mm. I used a set of feeler gauges to set this. Anyone who runs old motorcycles will have these or you can find them on Amazon. Wipe them on a cloth before using them as they will come with a thin film of oil. I’ve my Z live set to -850.

The instructions in the manual are not brilliant. When you print the calibration pattern make sure the ends are at 90 degrees to the sides. If they are not and the print doesn’t stick to the bed you need to decrease the value of the Z live. I started off at -100 and worked up in -100 increments until the ends of the print were at 90 degrees and the print stuck to the bed. This was -850. Your mileage may vary.

The lines on the calibration model are so thin it’s difficult to tell if the right amount of “squish” . So I printed the PRUSA name place, took a look at the first couple of layers which were fine. When the print was finished I looked at the base which was nice and smooth.

Also I’m using a 2s, this doesn’t work well with the latest version of firmware, it reports non existent fan errors and calibration screws up. So I reverted to 3.1.0 and all is well. Once I’ve done the upgrade to 2.5 I’ll have to try the upgrade again.

Hope this helps
