How to pack an assembled MK2 for moving?
Hi all.
I have an MK2 kit that has been doing good work for me for the last year. But now I have to move it across the country. A packing/shipping company will be handling the move (and they insist packing everything for liability). Ideally, I would like to keep the printer as intact as possible but secure as much as I can for safe transport over 2500 miles in a moving truck.
I've read that most people just zip tie everything that moves so it won't move in shipping. Also, put the whole thing in a plastic bag and cushion it in foam in the box.
Has anyone done this? What and how did you secure everything? How did it work out? How to did you pack it?
I'm looking for as much detail as possible since it's my first printer and I kinda love it. I'd like it to arrive at its destination unscathed!

I have moved my printers many times for exhibitions. I simply pick them up and put them into a car, on a flat surface.
Most important thing is to make sure you don't twist the Y frame.

The printer will be moved by a moving company since I will have very limited space in my car. My question is more about how can I secure the printer so it is not damaged by a moving company. Thank you!

I moved my first MK2S from Saudi to Philippines by DHL. Travelled the z axis all the way to the top stops and tie wrapped the x-axis, snugly but not tight enough to distort the rods, to the top of the frame. Traveled the bed fully forward and blocked it with a piece of the polystyrene packing foam. Used another block of polystyrene to protect the x motor end where it protrudes, and filled the voids with empty Prusa filament boxes and the air bags from the kit delivery carton.
My mistake was not fastening the x motor protection in place. It moved and the x-motor bracket was broken when it arrived.
