Heatbed temperature sensor failure when moving Y-axis

Hello,

I have just completed the assembly of the Prusa i3 MK2S. I've made some correct impressions. 😀

But I have noticed that, 😥 when I move the Y-axis completely forward, the temperature value reading of the heatbet suddenly drops to 30º.

If I move the Y-axis backwards, the temperature is read correctly.

I understand that this is a problem with the temperature sensor cable.

Is there a problem cutting it and replacing it with a new cable?

Replacing the cable is fine. But before you do, check and make sure that it is not just the thermocouple coming loose from the bed. (It is taped onto the center bottom.)

If it was a broken wire it should have dropped to 0C. Since it dropped to room temperature, I am guessing the sensor just came loose and is reading room temp (approx.) and maybe moves back when your Y moves.

Any advices given are offered in good faith. It is your responsibility to ensure that by following my advice you do not suffer or cause injury, damage or loss. If you solve your problem, please post the solution…

Thank you Aaron.

I just checked the wires. There are two parallel wires;

I found a small lump near the exit of the cable harness from the bed. I separated the wires and found out one of them was broken. 😮

After welding and covering it with thermoplastic tube, everything worked fine. 😀

What surprises me is that the temperature that marks, with the broken cable, was 35º.

Should I calibrate the temperature probe? ❓
