Heatbed not heating up

Hi,

I'm having a issue with my mk2, this is first major issue I had. (the printer is awesome btw!)

A few weeks ago, sudden the heat bed stopped heating up, at first I thought it was some slicing issue( i had a slicing issue once before and the printer wouldn't heat.) I just unplugged the printer overnight and came back and the bed began to heat up again fine. Fast-Forward a few weeks and it happened again, I checked for loose connections and saw that the heater block and connector on the board was melted.

Has anyone experienced this before? How can I fix this?

This issue has happened a number of times. If the board commector is not damaged you may get away with a new heatbed cable connector. I believe they are Molex connectors
If the board connector has also melted then you are probably best soldering the cable direct to the back of theconnector on the board. Because trying to unsolder the board connector may do more damage.

This aort of problem can result from the bed cable moving and coming loose or the cable beginning to break. Your picture shows heat at the connector pins. So this is most likely a loose connector. If the cable is beginning to dreak. Then now is the time to replace it. I suggest flexible radio control cable as shown in a different thread

I would try to find a broken cable or replace the cable. Melted connector is only an indicator that too much current was flowing. It can be a shortage in the cable as-well. Try to use a new connector instead of soldering to the board. Otherwise you may fry your board next time instead.
