First Layer after suppport material
Hey all,
I'm noticing that the first couple layers of the model following the support layers is always super sloppy and I'm wondering what the best way to combat this problem is. I understand that since its using the same material its difficult to not have these effects at all but I feel my prints experience the effect to a higher degree. I attached some photos so you can get a better idea of what I mean.

This problem is the curse of the technique of 3D printing with FDM - at least if there is just one material that is extruded for the whole object. There are however ways to combat this and that could be done with printing the support with a material that can easily be dissolved in a liquid that just impact that material. Then the inteface layer can be in direct contact with the object and thus give the object a superior finish.
Maybe there are other ways to deal with that matter - perhaps to contruct an object that is the support and where it is in direct contact with the useful object at several small points - so near eachother that the extruded material don't sag down. I havn't tried this though and there will be some work to put in for removing the support and the small imperfections afterwards.
But hey - we have the whole community to try out - so are there other ideas to give this problem a solution with just one material to print with?

You should be able to do MUCH better than those photos by adjusting the slicer settings for the support.
Your post provided us no details of what slicer you are using or what supports settings you are using. If properly set, you should barely be able to see that there was supports attached. Your settings are very far off. Different slicers have very different supports performance, and is a reason some people prefer some slicers over others.

Your images look a lot like one here from a while back that was using Slic3r, but had not done a "Load Configuration..." to load the .ini file that Prusa supplies. He was just using the default settings, not the Prusa ones. Could that be your case too? If not, please post your slicer info and we will help trouble shoot your issue.
