Firmware Update cant see Printer
So I am trying to update my firmware and my computer see it as a 3D Printer (COM4) but lists it as an unspecified device. When I open the updater it cant see the printer at all. Not sure what do at this point.

Download the latest driver and install them - the drivers in the latest version are signed and so should install without issue.
Plug in printer and the driver should be found automatically and the printer should then be properly recognised.

Also, make sure you have disconnected any slicers/print programs that are connected to the printer.

I have the same problem, I can connect to the printer and control it in Pronterface, but when i open Firmware updater i don't have any options to choose from in the "Choose serial port" dropdown. "Rescan" does nothing.
I use the latest drivers (1.7.2) on Windows 7. Anyone got a solution?

Try this:
Open Pronterface and connect to the printer. Note the port number.
Disconnect and close Pronterface
Open the firmware updater - see if it detects the printer.
If not, then open Device Manager and check the name(s) of the COMM port devices. You should see the printer there, if not your drivers have not loaded properly and need reloading.

I'm having a similar issue. I'm still on firmware 3.0.10. Just updated drivers to 2.1.4 and downloaded FW 3.1.0 hex file.
I can see the printer connected to COM3 in Pronterface successfully and in Device manager. But on firmware updater, nothing is shown on serial ports, even on rescan.
Already uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled. What could I have missed?

I have exactly the same problem, with FW 3.1.2-231 here. No clue what to do with it.
