Firmware message

I just finished building my MK2S and downloaded Slic3r from this site. When I create a file and start to run it I get a message:

New firmware version available: 3.1.0 Please Upgrade.

I can click to continue on, but is this the firmware in the controller or the software that they are talking about. If it is the controller, is there a link on how to do this?

Thanks

Re: Firmware message

it means there is a newer firmware for the machine itself.

here is the link for the newest software and firmware
https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/

here is a link to the guide on how to update the firmware

Re: Firmware message

Thanks for posting this, I found it in a search of this site.

My Prusa i3MK2S has showed me the above mentioned prase yesterday (26-2-2018) for the first time. I use it almost every day and have not done anything unusual to cause this.

The official Prusa page https://www.prusa3d.com/drivers/ lists Version 2.1.3 as the most recent (January 5, 2018) for MK3 and MK2/S/MMU.

So what should I make of the message to upgrade to a not yet existing version?

Furthermore, the printer is mis-behaving in other ways since exactly the same time: It does not follow my custom gcode settings.

Ahem, ahem, 😳 , while looking through the details to describe the problem accurately, I found that Slic3r was set to "Original Prusa i3 with z-hop" instead of my custom setting when it sliced the file.

I'll slice another one and see if the problem disappears.

By the way, this happens on a frequent basis: Slic3r changes the Printer Settings to some other setting than my custom settings. I deleted a bunch of older custom settings recently, in an attempt to stop it from changing back to them, and it seems like it has thus reverted back to the original setting. And that seems to cause the "Upgrade to an unavailable version" message.
