Filament Change

Anytime I perform the filament change command using the LCD display, I load the filament as normal. But after confirming the color is coming out clean, it stays there a minute, pushes out a few mm of filament, and travels back to print. I have to quickly grab the filament off or it usually creates a bleb on the print.

Is this normal or is the filament change code messed up for some reason?

Re: Filament Change

Hi Cory,

this is just... what happens.. 😯

Sooooooo....

grab the waste with your long nose pliers, press the button, and the extruder will go about it's business, leaving all of the waste attached to your pliers.
😀

Re: Filament Change

This really sounds like a coding issue. Why would this be a feature if the filament is already at the tip upon approval the color is clear?

Nobody said it was a feature. Its just what happens and how to deal with it.

If you make the nexessary code changes. And publish them... The whole open source movement would be pleased to benefit
