Feeling lost

I've watched the videos and read through as many posts here I can find but I'm still a bit lost. I put the V2 calibration on my SD card, but it only begins printing it doesn't check the different points on the board. I've checked the alignment of the first location and it's perfectly aligned. When I do the self -test everything is okay, but it still doesn't check other points. I've also checked my X axis endstop and it is as far forward as I can get it.

Is there something else I'm missing?

Thanks!

Probably best if you upgrade to the latest firmware (or 3.0.5RC may be better as it has been out for a week or so) and then run the XY calibration which checks out the build and aligns the probe properly.

Re: Feeling lost

Thanks for replying Peter. I did load the new firmware and I did it a second time last night just in case I did it wrong. It's still not doing the full calibration test.

In that case, you may not have the latest V2Calibration file. That is included with the driver package. I will have to download it and look at the start code as I think mine is the old version.

Did you run the X/Y calibration from the Settings menu?

I have checked the V2Cal GCode. Lines 6 to 8 should read:

G87
G88
G28

This will turn on microstepping, home all and then run the 9-point probe calibration before the print.

During the print, you need to go to "Tune/Live Z Adjust" to adjust the nozzle to generate a nice squished line.

Re: Feeling lost

Peter,

I double checked the gcode and it is correct. I also reloaded the firmware again and it's still not doing the 9 point check. This is really frustrating!

I was thinking about this as I was trying to sleep last night.

Are you loading up the correct firmware? The Mk1 firmware will load and work on the Mk2, but it will not do the 9-point check.

The firmware you need to upload is: 1_75mm_MK2-RAMBo13a-E3Dv6full.hex Unless is has "MK2" in the name, it is Mk1 firmware.
