Extruder pops out when loading filament

I recently built my Prusa and - after overcoming some road bumps - finally finished doing the calibration print and figured I was ready to begin. I decided my first print would be the little frog. However, about 3 minutes into the print the extruder caught on the lower part of the frog, and before I could stop it, it dug a nasty gash into the bed. I unloaded the filament and restarted the calibration process to try and figure out what was wrong. Once all the calibration was passed once again, I ran the calibration print and got another dig into the print bed. I think the issue is that when the filament is slowly fed into the extruder, the extruder gets pushed down and deflected.
Ever since my first prints went terribly, I unloaded the filament and every single time I try to load the filament, the extruder gets pushed until it is partially popped out. This has been making calibration an impossibility. I've tried unscrewing the extruder housing and snugly inserting the extruder, while tightening the screws, but nothing seems to work. There have been a couple of times where I have been able to successfully load the filament without it deflecting. For instance, I got the filament to be loaded without it deflecting, but then I ran the v2 calibration program 3 times to be safe. The first 2 runs consisted of me slowly adjusting live z. The third run ended abruptly with curses as the extruder was once again pushed out during the first line extruded before any actual printing. This caused the extruder to crash into the bed once more, but I was luckily able to end the print right away.
I'm frankly at a loss with how to proceed and any help would be appreciated.

My first thought is a bad extruder assembly. Can you show us pictures of your extruder (using the forum attachment feature).

If it helps at all I've run it a few more times on the V2 calibration print and I've noticed that it works without crashing the first time. It then crashes on the first line extruded before printing on the 2nd time doing the V2 print without me even touching the live adjust z.

My first thought is that it is assembled incorrectly.

I confirm you that you have misassembled your extruder! Your hotend is way, way to low.

Hey guys, so after rechecking, my extruder was indeed too low! So, I unscrewed the housing and reset the extruder. I ensured there was no gap this time and went about doing the V2 calibration once again. The first time went great!
However, once again, the extruder was pushed out by the filament being fed into it and crashed into the bed. On the bright side, there was improvement. Typically I saw the extruder crash before even starting the actual print, but this time it made it about halfway through the second V2 calibration print before crashing into the bed once more. I'll retry again and update.
It seems to me like I need some sort of heat resistant adhesive for the extruder, because it just won't stop popping out.

I think you just need to read the manual and look at the pictures.
Then your extruder and probe will be positioned correctly.
