Extruder loading filament fine but wont feed during prints
Hi folks,
So my kit has been up and running for about a week now. Ive been printing 4-5 prints to test different settings and get to know the printer. All using Prusa PLA that shipped with the kit. Yesterday a problem happened. The extruder started to "click" during the print and when i tried to load filament. The click came from the motor that was unable to turn the pulley and feed the hot end. I tied to loosen the idlers - they have been around 13mm all the time. This made it possible for the extruder to load the filament with out any problems. I tried to start a print and the starting line on the edge of the bed came out around fine. But it didn't extrude much during the print and it clicked occasionally. So since that I've tried to change the strength of the idlers, clean the nozzle by pushing filament through manually at ABS temp., atomic pull and using the needle. Nothing has changed though. It loads the filament fine - filament comes out in a straight line. Sometimes it is able to print the starting line on the edge of the bed, some times not.
Any idea what is causing this and how to fix it?
Could the nozzle be too close to bet even though it printed fine without i've changed the z-hight?
Thanks a lot. It is really frustrating 😥 🙄
Re: Extruder loading filament fine but wont feed during prints
it is possible that the nozzle is too close to the bed, and that's simple to test, just make the liveZ adjustment a bit smaller negative number...

Re: Extruder loading filament fine but wont feed during prints
Can you also check that the extruder fan (30mm, on the side) is working when the extruder is hot?
There are a few other things to check (PTFE tube/nozzle change), but check out Joan's suggestion first.
