Extruder Crashes into Print

Hi guys,

So I was printing a large well cap out of abs with tons of support material. I noticed as the support material got higher and the actual cap surface began to print, the surface started to warp with several hills and valleys (see pic). Despite this, it was still printing okay. As the print went on, I noticed the machine would randomly stop and do nothing several times in the print for about 30 seconds at a time. I figured it may have been a processing issue with the Rambo?? Anyway, I went to bed and was woken by very loud crashing noises followed by X and Y axes banging against the limit switches which were apparently not reading. I then noticed the large dent in the front of the print (see pic), where the extruder head crashed into the print, almost like the position was instantly lost. Has anyone had similar issues? As usual, thanks in advance!

Regards, Corey
