Extruder covered in PLA
So last night I had a print going that was going well, this morning I work up with PLA everywhere and my extruder was covered in it, and I mean completely covered in PLA. I've attached a picture and could use any advice on how to clean this. Only had the printer a week or so. 🙁

Update: Was able to carefully pry most of it off when I did a preheat. The wire connectors are still covered so I am hoping if I heat it up a bit further they will soften up a little and I can clean them too. Sheesh what a disaster. First bad print out of 10 so I guess that is not too bad.

Probably would need some kind of bad print detector using visual recognition software. 🙂

here a hot air gun, or even hair dryer is recommended to soften the pla "blob" slowly.

Maybe you should get the E3D silicone socks. I never had such a bad failure, but the sock helps keeping my extruder clean and it also keeps the air from the part cooling fan away from the extruder.
